Forecasting Water Saturation of Fill Grounds in Urban Infrastructure Conditions by Mathematical Modeling Based on the Main Hydrophysical Characteristic

Abstract: A technique is proposed for forecasting water saturation of fill and undisturbed grounds used in construction when making a foundation. Dependencies are established between the content of individual granulometric fractions of grounds and their physico-mechanical properties. Reliable regression equations are obtained, which formed the basis of a mathematical model for predicting the water saturation of grounds. A software product has been developed, the work of which was tested using the example of the basic hy… Show more

“…The part of the soil that does not belong to macroaggregates (<0.25 mm), as well as the lumpy fraction, characterizes the structural and aggregate composition. For optimal structure formation, it is required that a small part of microaggregates not glued into large aggregates be present in the soil [14,15]. In the arable layer of chernozem, the content of structural separations with dimensions less than 0.25 mm is 4.91.4%, but with an average degree of variability (CV=28%).…”
