Flow cytometric analysis of the effect of dithiothreitol on leukocyte surface markers

Abstract: Pretreatment with dithiothreitol (DTT) is necessary to dissolve mucus in samples of induced sputum prior to analysis. However, DTT may affect cell surface markers which are essential for lymphocyte subtyping.
