Much of the Brazilian semiarid region faces a considerable process of degradation of natural resources, and ethnobotanical studies have collaborated with important information about the use and traditional knowledge, serving as a tool to design conservation strategies of native plant species. Thus, this study aimed to determine medicinal species meriting conservation priorities in a "Caatinga" area in the northeastern of Brazilian territory. The ethnobotanical data were collected through semi-structured interviews with key subjects selected through the "snowball" technique. The availability and species conservation priority was verified by relative density, risk of collection, local use and use of diversity in the forest fragment sampled. It was recorded 42 native medicinal plants and conservation priority score was calculated for seven species, including Mimosa tenuiflora, Hymenaea courbaril, Ximenia americana and Amburana cearensis need immediate conservation and attention, since their collection does not occur in a sustainable way. In order to ensure the perpetuation of the species and the sustainability of traditional therapeutic practice there needs to be a development of conservation practices of caatinga remaining to better conserve the species of the biome.

ESTRUTURA DO COMPONENTE ARBUSTIVO-ARBÓREO DE UM REMANESCENTE DE CAATINGA NO ESTADO DO CEARÁ, BRASILRESUMO: O Nordeste do Brasil tem a maior parte de seu território ocupado pela caatinga que se caracteriza por ser uma vegetação xerófita considerada por especialistas o bioma brasileiro mais sensível à interferência humana e às mudanças climáticas globais. Este trabalho teve como objetivo realizar a caracterização da composição florística e estrutura em um remanescente de caatinga localizado na Reserva Particular de Patrimônio Natural (RPPN) da Fazenda Trussú em Iguatú, Ceará. Foram estabelecidas 45 parcelas de 10x20 m e amostrados todos os indivíduos vivos e mortos com diâmetro do caule ao nível do solo > 3 cm e altura total > 1 m. A densidade estimada foi de 5.602 indivíduos ha -1 distribuídos em 52 espécies, 41 gêneros e 23 famílias. A área estudada apresenta diversidade do componente lenhoso semelhante ao encontrado em outras áreas da caatinga, com índice de diversidade Shannon de 2,19 nats/ind e a equitabilidade 0,50. As espécies Croton sonderianus, Combretum leprosum, Mimosa caesalpiniifolia e Mimosa tenuiflora apresentaram maior índice de valor de importância. A área de estudo esta bem preservada e em processo de recuperação. STRUCTURE OF A SHRUB-TREE IN A FRAGMENT OF CAATINGA IN CEARÁ STATE, BRAZILABSTRACT: The Northeast of Brazil is the largest part of its territory occupied by scrub which is characterized by being a xerophytic vegetation considered by experts the biome most sensitive to human interference and global climate change. This study aimed to characterize the floristic composition and structure in a remnant of savanna located in Reserva de Particular de Patrimonio Natural (RPPN) in the Farm Trussú in Iguatu Ceará. 45 plots were established and sampled 10x20 cm all living and dead individuals with a stem diameter at the ground level > 3 cm and total height of > 1 m. The estimated density was 5,602 individuals ha-1 representing 52 species, 41 genera and 23 families. The studied area featuring a variety of woody component similar to that found in other areas of savanna, with Shannon diversity index of 2.19 nats/ind and equitability 0.50. The species Croton sonderianus, Combretum leprosum, Mimosa caesalpiniifolia and Mimosa tenuiflora had greater importance value index. The study area is well preserved and recovery process.

Objetivou-se analisar aspectos fitossociológicos e de crescimento de Commiphora leptophloeos (Mart.) J. B. Gillett. no semiárido brasileiro. A espécie foi estudada por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica e dados de 40 parcelas permanentes em área de caatinga, instaladas em 2008 e remensuradas em 2013, estimando-se densidade relativa (DR), frequência relativa (FR), dominância relativa (DoR), valor de importância (VI), regeneração natural (RN), crescimento em área basal (CB) e incremento periódico anual (IPA). A espécie apresentou DR de 0,04 a 12,82%, FR de 0,10 a 9,53 %, DoR de 0,01 a 19,58 %, VI de 0,14 a 10,87% e RN de 0,83 a 2,34 %. O CB foi negativo, quando considerada a mortalidade. O IPA foi de 0,00 a 0,25 cm ano-1. A espécie se destaca por sua DoR, no entanto, apresenta baixas DR, FR e RN. Apresenta crescimento lento, que aliado a problemas de RN e sua extração sem manejo pode restringir a sua continuidade na vegetação.
