Flat Top Barge 300 feet Using Portable Dynamic Positioning System

Abstract: Abstract portable dynamic positioning system has not commonly applied to the vessel, especially on barge. Besides for dynamic positioning function, the system can be used as vessel's main propulsion. By using this system, the vessel able to not using anchors because the functions can be performed by the Portable Dynamic System. This research designed the vessels with main dimensions LWL 90.1 meters, 25 meters wide, 5.5 meters high and 4.2 meters draft. To generate the vessel with a maximum speed of 8 knots, i… Show more

“…However, in percentage of motor load 60% -75% the value of its efficiency began to fall. This disebbkan on motor load between 60% -75% KQ and KT numbers are not far adrift, This has a close relationship with the formula of efficiency (10). Where the rate of efficiency depends also on the KQ, KT, and J figures so that the efficiency graph -Load motor shaped like picture 4.7.3.…”

“…In making of sewage pipe from main deck to sewage tank, we must pay attention to slope of the pipe. According to the International Plumbing Code [3][4][5], sewage pipes should be run with a uniform slope of pipe that it can be seen on table 3.…”

“…This is exactly what makes the Owner to innovate not use large-capacity Main Engine but get maximum thrust, so that the desired speed is reached [5]. Many technologies boats that have been created to solve the problem, for example the use of Water Jet propulsion system and Azipod system [10]. But the technology less attractive because the cost of purchasing and maintenance (Maintenance) is relatively high.…”
