FLAG phase 2: status and prospects

Abstract: In this talk I presented the FLAG initiative, discussed the history of the project, its aim and scope. After completing the first review in 2010, we decided to extend the review to more quantities and to involve a larger group of people. I have illustrated the phase 2 of the project, its new structure and the schedule for the release of the next review.

“…The former results allow to determine |V us | from the experimental measurement of the so-called Kl2 leptonic decay K → µν [11], while the latter results are required to extract |V us | from the experimental measurement of the so-called Kl3 semileptonic decay K → πlν [12,13]. For a recent review of the f K and f + (0) lattice results I refer to the FLAG review [8] and to Gilberto Colangelo's plenary talk at the Lattice2012 conference [14]. Here I only quote the FLAG averages for |V us |, which combine both the Kl2 and Kl3 determinations and are separately given for the N f = 2 and N f = 2 + 1 lattice input: |V us | = 0.2254 ± 0.0009 from N f = 2 + 1 and |V us | = 0.2251 ± 0.0018 from N f = 2.…”

“…There are already two groups working on initiatives to compile results and provide averages: FLAG [1] and Laiho-Lunghi-Van de Water [2]. A more ambitious project including members of those two averaging collaborations and new collaborators from Europe, Japan, and the US, the Flavour Lattice Averaging Group, FLAG-2, expects to provide its first set of averages soon [3].…”
