First-principles design of ferromagnetic monolayer MnO2 at the complex interface

Abstract: Rapidly increasing interest in low-dimensional materials is driven by the emerging requirement to develop nanoscale
solid-state devices with novel functional properties that are not available in three-dimensional bulk phases.
Among the well-known low-dimensional systems, complex transition metal oxide interface holds promise for broad
applications in electronic and spintronics devices. Herein, intriguing metal-insulator and
 ferromagnetic-antiferromagnetic transition… Show more

“…57 These chemical species contained in the electrochemically deposited thin film are very interesting as they both have properties suitable for applications in spintronics. 31,58 MnAs is a half-metal 59 typically obtained through physical deposition, it presents ferromagnetic properties, and spin anisotropy, which are key features for spintronic applications. 8,60 Previous papers in the literature report how an MnAs deposit was obtained by physical deposition and had interesting properties of ferromagnetism and spin anisotropy.…”
