“…As shown in Figure 26, few-layered Bi 2 WO 6 possesses an increased DOS at the CBM compared with that of its bulk counterpart. [17,57,77,177] Furthermore, different photocatalytic CO 2 reductionp erformances of different facets were revealed by DOS calculations. The CBM of Bi x O y Br is highert han that of BiOBri nt he DOS calculation, thus revealing for Bi x O y Br ah igherc apacity for the photoreduction of CO 2 into hydrocarbon fuelu nder visible-light irradiation.…”

“…They made a series of innovative achievements such as photocatalytic water splitting for hydrogen (H 2 ) evolution, 25 selective photoreduction of CO 2 into CO, 26 molecular oxygen activation and RhB degradation. 27,28 Xiao et al 29,30 have successfully synthesized Bi 4 O 5 I 2 nanoakes, which had better photocatalytic activities in the degradation of 4-tert-butylphenol, and predicted that they could be applied to other elds as well.…”

“…[13][14] Despite these advantages, the too positive conduction band minimum (CBM) of BiOBr and high recombination of photo-induced charges still limit its practical application. [15] The result of density functional theory (DFT) indicates that the conduction band (CB) of BiOBr is mainly made up of Bi 6p orbits, [16] thus some researchers have suggested that the CB position can be adjusted by increasing the content of bismuth in BiOBr to improve the hybridization of CB and decrease its band gap, which is in favor of charge transfer and visible-light absorption of Bi-O-Br semiconductor photocatalysts such as the construction of Bi 5 O 7 Br, [17] Bi 3 O 4 Br [18] and Bi 24 O 31 Br 10 . [19] Among them, Di et al reported that the photocatalytic efficiency of as-prepared Bi 4 O 5 Br 2 ultrathin nanosheets was 1.9 times higher than that of BiOBr ultrathin nanosheets towards degrading ciprofloxacin.…”
