First emerging evidence of the relationship between Onuf’s nucleus degeneration and reduced sperm number following spinal subarachnoid haemorrhage: Experimental study

Abstract: Lumbosacral pathologies can lead to infertility. Onuf's nucleus changes in these pathologies may have a role in low sperm number. This study aims to investigate the relationship between Onuf's nucleus degeneration and sperm number following spinal subarachnoid haemorrhage. 22 rabbits were used. They were divided into three groups; five of them were used as the control (GI), five as the SHAM (GII) and twelve as the study groups (GIII). The study group received 0.7 ccs autologous blood into the spinal subarachno… Show more

“…Due to the small sample size of the white‐collar worker group, after analyzing the epidemiological characteristics of patients in each group, subsequent difference analysis removed the white‐collar worker group to increase statistical credibility 16 . Equal sample sizes can give a greater power to detect differences 17 . Thus, the unemployed group and blue‐collar worker group of patients were matched to the same sample size through the randomization method of digital table, forming new groups (unemployed group [ n = 299] and new blue‐collar worker group [ n = 299]), so as to improve the credibility of the study after defining the disease characteristics of patients with different occupations.…”

“…Odor stimuli play a major role in the perception of food flavor, appetite, salivation, and release of enzyme and hormone secretion to the metabolism of foods (11). Olfactory bulb lesions lead to substantia nigra degeneration, mammary gland insults, Peyer's patches hyperplasia induced by infections, hypothyroidism, neuropsychiatric disorders, sexual problems, Hirschprung-like disease, and spermatogenesis disorders (10,(30)(31)(32)(33)(34)(35). The findings summarized under this title are generally observed in PD.…”
