“…After transformation, we use the formulae, LA ( X , Y | Z ) = (X 1 Y 1 Z 1 +...+X 88 Y 88 Z 88 )/88, to compute the LA score [22,28]. The LAP3 website [52] was developed to enhance the online computation of LA.…”

“…The entries of Ī” 0 can also be interpreted as the differences in the partial covariances of each pair of genes between the two groups. This type of model for a differential network has been adopted by others as well, for example in Li et al (2007), Danaher et al (2013), and an unpublished technical report by StƤdler and Mukherjee (arxiv:1308.2771).…”

“…The difference between the two precision matrices, denoted by Ī” = ( Ī“ i,j ) = Ī© 1 ā€“ Ī© 2 , is called the differential network. This type of model for a differential network has been used in Li et al (2007) and Danaher et al (2014). We thus propose to test for gene-by-gene interactions both by testing the global hypotheses H0:normalĪ”=00.5emversus0.5em0.2emH1:normalĪ”ā‰ 0,and by simultaneously testing the hypotheses H0,i,j:Ī“i,j=00.5emversus0.5emH1,i,j:Ī“i,jā‰ 0,0.5em0.2em1ā‰¤i<jā‰¤p,while controlling for the overall false discovery rate at a pre-specified level.…”
