“…The availability of terrestrial plant material is much reduced in the reservoir but some herbivores maintained populations by preying upon fish. Leporinus friderici and Myleus rhomboidalis have been already known to show a propensity for omnivorous habits (Boujard et al 1990, Albrecht & Caramaschi 2003. Conversely, Myleus ternetzi is strictly folivorous and eats exclusively allochtonous food (Boujard et al 1990 culty to separate partially digested algal material from true detritus in the gut, we included in the detritivore guild two different kinds of species.…”
