Feed Forage and Nutrition Value at Altitudes during the Dry Season in the West Java

Abstract: Field grass was a source of ruminant forage, especially for rural farmers in  the West Java in different altitude. The aim of this study was to determine the potential of grass during  the dry season which included the botanical composition analysis and chemical analysis of nutritional value. The study was conducted from September to November 2015. The method used was a survey method, sampling was multistage sampling. The parameters measured in the study included a botanical composition of the forage, biomass … Show more

“…The genotype advantage correlated with wide adaptation and growth strength in the rain fed conditions (Giridhar et al, 2016). Rochana et al (2016) states that crude protein is very important for the life and ruminants growth. Crude protein helps in breaking crude fibers derived from forage and providing amino acids for ruminants.…”

“…Legumes have a useful use in soil systems, plants, livestock and the atmosphere and are very effective with the proportion of 30-50% legume green against grass. According to Rochana et al (2016) legume plants are recommended as much as 30% of the total rations, Legume plants as a source of protein is one of the most important nutrients for the life and growth of ruminants. If the protein is sufficient for ruminants required in the process of decomposition of crude fiber forage, then the ruminants perform its functions to produce amino acids that are essential for the growth, reproduction and meet production of ruminants.…”
