Abstract: The article deals with the problem of improving the health of the population through the implementation of the national project «Demography» and one of its components — the federal project «Strengthening Public Health». The author analyzed the project passport in detail, determined the full participation of interested performers and co-performers in it, and the organization of control over its implementation in terms of the mechanisms for forming a system of motivating citizens to a healthy lifestyle.

The study and assessment of the nutritional characteristics of the population makes it possible to detect risk factors for metabolic disorders and the development of chronic non-infectious diseases associated with nutrition, which proves the relevance of the study. The purpose of this article is to study the nutritional characteristics of the population of the Stavropol Territory and identify risk factors for the development of diseases associated with nutrition. For this purpose, 3986 people of the Stavropol Territory aged from 31 to 55 were surveyed and questioned, who were divided into two groups: urban population — 1783 people, rural population — 2203 people. The data of anthropometric studies (height, weight, waist and hip circumference) were collected by a generalizing method using an electronic scale (with an accuracy of 0.2 kg), measurement of height — using a stadiometer (with an accuracy of 0.1 cm), followed by calculating the value of the body mass index (BMI). In 300 people (150 urban dwellers and 150 rural dwellers), the total cholesterol content in the blood was studied, which was determined by the enzymatic colorimetric method. The glucose content was determined by the glucose oxidase method. The excretion of iodine in the urine was determined in the morning portion of urine by the cerium-arsenite method with wet ashing of the sediment. Diagnostics of the elemental status of the population was carried out by atomic absorption spectrometry with direct determination of chemical elements. According to the results of the survey, it was found that the risk factors for the development of health disorders in the population of the Stavropol Territory should be considered excessive nutrition in combination with high levels of cholesterol and glucose in the blood, iodine deficiency, decreased levels of calcium, copper, zinc, and low physical activity. More than half of the overweight or obese population had a combination of 3–6 risk factors that worsen their health.

In the structure of factors that form the health of the working-age population, the conditions of its production activity occupy an important place. Today, the products of metallurgical industries are used in almost all industries. The study of the state of the cardiovascular systems of workers of a steel wire shop at a large metallurgical enterprise was carried out. An in-depth examination using modern methods of instrumental diagnostics was carried out by 302 employees of the enterprise. Of these — 275 men and 27 women, aged 23 to 59 years. A feature of the working conditions of workers in metallurgical production is the complex effect of the heating microclimate, the severity of the labor process, dust and complex aerosols of metals, which can be risk factors for the development of arterial hypertension at the earliest stages of exposure. A survey of the nature of nutrition and eating behavior showed that 41.2 % of the surveyed showed a high, excessive frequency of consumption of animal fat in persons with arterial hypertension. Examination of workers, aged from 23 to 59 years, revealed arterial hypertension in 19.4 %, signs of arterial hypotension were observed in 7.4 % of the examined workers of the metallurgical plant. In 46.2 % of workers, an increase in blood pressure was revealed, which can be characterized as mild arterial hypertension, in 45.1 % — moderate, and in 8.7 % of the surveyed, an increase in blood pressure can be characterized as a severe degree of arterial hypertension. Metallurgical workers were found to have such risk factors for the development of arterial hypertension as an imbalance in the consumption of plant and animal food, alcohol consumption and psychosocial factors. The state of the cardiovascular system of the workers of the metallurgical plant is characterized by maladaptive somatic changes.

The article conducted an analysis of the relationship of fertility and wages in the regions of the Russian Federation for 2020, 2021 and 2022. It is shown that a decrease in the birth rate in many regions led to an increase in the number of regions with low birth rate (5.8–7.9 people by 1000) by 3 times. It was established that with salaries from 15 to 50–60 thousand rublesшIn a month, the birth rate depended on the level of salaries. At the same time, the intensity of the salary contribution to the birth rate depended on the salary. The lower the salary was, the more intense the influence of its birth rate is intensively expressed. The most intensive effect on the decrease in the birth rate was observed with salaries of 15–20 thousand rubles/month. The lowest birth rate was noted in regions in which more than 19 % of the population received a salary of less than 15 thousand rubles/month. Currently, with salaries of more than 60 thousand rubles a month, the influence of the economic factor on the birth rate is small. The results can be used in the development of issues to improve the demographic situation in the Russian Federation.
