Abstract: Introduction: Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a critical disease related to otorhinolaryngology, allergology, and pediatrics worldwide due to its high prevalence and treatment costs. This article considers its prevalence based on regional characteristics of sensitization and the quality of patients with allergic rhinitis in North Vietnam. “…In Vietnam, although HDM is the most common sensitized allergens among AAR patients, the sensitization prevalence to different HDMs are variable along the country. Bt was the most common sensitized HDM (18.7-27.7%) in northern Vietnam, followed by Dp (10.6%-13.3%) and Df (6.3-10.5%) [45][46][47]. Meanwhile, Dp and Df sensitization were more common in the middle (43.3% and 30%, respectively) [48] and southern Vietnam (22-50.3% and 18-59.8%, respectively, [49] & unpublished data).…”

“…A population-based study in northern Vietnam showed that 13.1% people were sensitized to cockroach [45]; meanwhile, that prevalence in subjects with allergic rhinitis symptoms were 38.6% [46]. Nevertheless, a study in Vietnamese allergic rhinitis patients showed that only 3.1% had specific IgE antibody against cockroach [47], whereas 10.2% of patients visiting Allergy Unit in University Medical Center at Ho Chi Minh City had positive reaction to cockroach in skin prick tests (unpublished data).…”
