Abstract: The first studies of Leptophlebiidae in the Santa Catarina State, Southern Brazil, dated from 1920. Since then, not much is known about the family (even to the Order Ephemeroptera) to the State. The main goal of this study was to survey fauna of Leptophlebiidae in the Santa Catarina State based on nymphs. The material was obtained from the collection deposited at the Laboratório de Pesquisa em Ecologia e Química of the Universidade Comunitária da Região de Chapecó, besides additional specimens collected betwee… Show more

“…Among the streams studied here, the lowest temperature and the highest elevation (average of 1,550 m) was recorded in mixed rainforest (Parque Estadual de Campos do Jordão), which could have affected the assemblages structure, especially considering the fact that some genera were only recorded in this area (Campylocia, Tupiara, Hagenulopsis, Hermanella, Leptohyphodes and Melanemerella). Nymphs of the genus Hermanella seem to be most represented in high altitude regions (Raimundi et al 2013), however there is no information available on the others. These result emphasize that the mountainous regions of state of São Paulo harbor a high diversity of aquatic insects, as was previously demonstrated in studies in the Parque Estadual de Campos do Jordão with Trichoptera Froehlich 2009), Ephemeroptera (Siegloch et al 2012) and Coleoptera (Segura et al 2012).…”

“…In the western region of the Santa Catarina state, southern Brazil, for instance, there are many studies related to insects (SILVA, 1999;SILVA & SILVESTRE, 2000;SILVA & SILVESTRE, 2004;LUTINSKI & GARCIA, 2005;GRACIANI et al, 2005;MARCONDES et al, 2006;RAVANELLO, 2007;LUTINSKI et al, 2008;IOP et al, 2009;BATTISTONI, 2012;FAVRETTO, 2012;SCHMIDT et al, 2012;SANTOS et al, 2013;FAVRETTO et al, 2013a;FAVRETTO et al, 2013b;RAIMUNDI et al, 2013;FAVRETTO et al, 2014;SANTOS et al, 2014;FAVRETTO et al, 2015;ORLANDIN et al 2017). However, only Ravanello's research (2007) covers the entire extension of hydrographic basins as sampling parcels, as the other papers have focus on forest remnants, small areas or dispersal species record.…”
