Fatigue reliability analysis for vibroseis baseplates

Abstract: A B S T R A C T High precision vibroseis are widely used in oil and gas exploration. The key component of a vibroseis is its baseplate, suffered from complicated external load. Cracks could be generated in the baseplate, and fractures could occur in the welding parts of baseplates because of an extreme loading. This failure not only reduces the baseplate life significantly, but also affects the quality and precision of the signal excitation seriously. The objective of this work is to study the fatigue behavior… Show more

“…All these processing parameters of P, v, h and t are significant factors controlling the related SLM process. In this investigation, an OED [27][28][29] was used for the purpose of optimizing the processing parameters (laser power, scan speed, layer thickness and hatch spacing) for obtaining the better mechanical properties of the SLMed Ti-6Al-4V parts.…”

“…OED is an experiment design method to efficiently investigate the multifactor with multilevel sampling problem, which just assigns limited and representative experimental groups from a large test set according to the orthogonality. [27][28][29] In practice, OED has been used to investigate the predominant effects of multiple parameters with the fewest experimental groups.…”

“…This flow will create a differential pressure across the piston, resulting in a force to move the reaction mass. The inlet and outlet passages are machined in the horizontal plane so that the hydraulic oil flow disturbance can be minimized [25], [26]. Finite element analysis tools such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and Solidworks Cosmos (CSM) [27] are used to simulate the dynamic responses of the mechanical fluid model.…”

“…Fatigue of materials as an ancient and useful subject has been developing for nearly two centuries . In general, P ‐ S ‐ N curves (probabilistic stress/strain‐fatigue life curves), are used as the basic law of fatigue life to prevent and predict fatigue failure . Strictly, P ‐ S ‐ N curves should be tested and statistically analysed by using the large‐sample method (ie, at least four testing stress levels and at least 15 specimens at each testing stress level), such as the traditional method (called as TM method and issued in Chinese military standard GJB/Z 18A) .…”

[3][4][5][6] Strictly, P-S-N curves should be tested and statistically analysed by using the large-sample method (ie, at least four testing stress levels and at least 15 specimens at each testing stress level), such as the traditional method (called as TM method and issued in Chinese military standard GJB/Z 18A). 1,7 The TM method consists in an evaluation of the point with a given probability (and confidence limit) at each testing stress level, and then the P-S-N regression is made considering these points.…”
