Background: the present research represents the first systematic review of the literature on the relation between happiness (i.e., subjective well-being, life satisfaction, positive affect) and family functioning in families with children aged 6–18 years. Method: relevant articles were systematically searched in three scientific databases (i.e., PsycInfo, Pubmed, and Web of Science) in June 2022. The databases were searched for original articles published after 1968 with the keywords “happiness” and “family functioning.” Results: of the 2683 records recovered, 124 original articles met the eligibility criteria and were included in the review. The articles were divided according to four emergent themes: (1) family dimensions and happiness; (2) global family functioning (i.e., family functioning, and family relationships), environmental variables, and happiness; (3) parental differences; (4) longitudinal studies. Conclusions: the results of the review provide evidence for a positive relation between happiness and family functioning, across different cultures and age groups: Family dimensions (e.g., cohesion, communication) were found to strongly predict children’s and adolescents’ happiness. Future studies should investigate the differences between fathers and mothers using multi-informant and mixed methods procedures and a longitudinal research approach. The implications of the findings for children’s positive development are discussed.

O objetivo do presente estudo foi identificar as medidas utilizadas para avaliar as forças de caráter em crianças de até 12 anos por meio de uma revisão integrativa de literatura. Considerou-se o período entre 2008 e 2020, sendo que a CAPES, a ScieLO e a Redalyc foram as bases de dados utilizadas. Foram analisados nove artigos, considerando ano de publicação, instrumentos utilizados, características amostrais e os construtos relacionados às forças. Os anos de 2013, 2014 e 2015 foram os que tiveram o maior número de publicações. As amostras dos estudos analisados foram compostas por estudantes. As variáveis associadas ao contexto escolar e construtos como a satisfação com a vida e o otimismo foram associados com maior frequência às forças de caráter. Além de ser o instrumento mais utilizado, o Values in Action-Youth parece ser o instrumento mais aceito para avaliar as forças em crianças. Conclui-se que o contexto escolar tem sido considerado um espaço importante para o desenvolvimento das forças pessoais de crianças, preservação da saúde e enfrentamento de problemas da vida.

Penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan kepustakaan ini diarahkan pada kondisi nyata di lapangan sebagai lokus penelitian, sehingga membuat penelitian ini adalah juga penelitian lapangan yang berfokus pada analisis bahan ajar PKn dengan tema anti-diskriminasi. Dilakukan selama dua bulan, tepatnya dari April hingga Maret 2022. Bertempat di SDN 1 Mongisidi Makassar; jalan Mongisidi No. 13; Desa Maricaya Baru; Kabupaten Makassar; kota Makassar; Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini secara eksplisit menganalisis bahan ajar tertulis dan tidak tertulis yang digunakan secara terintegrasi dalam transmisi pendidikan karakter di SD Unggulan Mongisidi 1 Makassar. Semua sumber, termasuk buku, jurnal terindeks (nasional dan internasional) dan dokumen pendukung lainnya yang digunakan, mempertimbangkan relevansi dan kekuatan eksplanasinya terhadap fokus penelitian, untuk memungkinkan elaborasi. Aspek kebaruan dari keseluruhan literatur juga diandalkan sebagai alat konseptual-teoritis untuk menganalisis bahan ajar yang digunakan, baik dalam upaya mengkritik maupun memverifikasi relevansi bahan ajar yang digunakan. Temuan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar PPKn bertema pendidikan karakter anti diskriminasi di SD Unggulan Mongisidi 1 Makassar, dapat dikatakan cukup baik dan memenuhi syarat sesuai kurikulum dari aspek kelayakan. isi bahan ajar. Sedangkan dari aspek kelayakan penyajian dan kontekstualitas belum sepenuhnya baik karena rata-rata unsur bahan ajar yang dinilai masih dalam kategori kurang baik bahkan sangat kurang.
