Failure mode and dynamic response of a double-sided slope with high water content of soil

Abstract: A double-sided slope with high water content in sandy clay was considered under the action of seismic load. Its failure mode and dynamic response were investigated using a hydraulic servo shaking table test. The typical characteristic of failure mode and dynamic responses of the double-sided slope were analyzed. Experimental results show that slope failure undergoes a process of progressive deformation. The slope failure mode can be explained as creep sliding landslide. AFA (Amplification Factor of Acceleratio… Show more

“…e landslide caused by earthquakes is a common natural disaster in mountain areas [1][2][3]. ousands of geological disasters have been triggered by the Wenchuan earthquake (M S 8.0) in western Sichuan, China, most of which (more than 60,000) were landslides [1,4]. ere are dozens of largescale landslides (>ten million m 3 ) and more than 100 landslides with an area of more than 50,000 m 2 [1,4].…”

“…e weak interlayer is often the controlling factor for the slope instability [11]. Under the action of ground motion, a slope with a weak interlayer will exhibit several different response characteristics compared to a homogeneous slope [12,13]. To date, various researchers have studied the seismic response of the slope with a weak interlayer.…”

“…Low-carbon m & a is a new mode of merger and acquisition under the ecological civilization education (Tian, 2017;Dali and Kamarudin, 2018). The historical assessment and future prediction of ecological security (Yang et al, 2018a) and the study on the establishment of safety factor system model for the construction of water ecological civilization (Zhang, 2017;Baharuddin and Samsudin, 2018) are also very important. Regional landscape-ecological studies have acquired a special topicality as they assure efficient environmental conservation and sustainable use of natural resources.…”
