Covid-19 triggered health crises, lockdowns and travel restrictions that brought about overwhelming economic and social disruptions. While lockdowns have lowered air and noise pollution, this shift in lifestyle has increased waste products resulting from single-use plastics and medical wastes which are detrimental to the environment. The Environmental Performance Index (EPI) declined from a score of 47.9 in the year 2020 to the current score of 35, which ranked Malaysia far behind neighbouring countries like Singapore and Thailand. This responsibility to rebuild a greener environment should not be restricted to regulatory authorities or corporations but should involve all individuals. The personal green value may influence the pro-environmental behaviours of employees towards successful environmental management. Organisations implement various green management practices into their operations to strengthen environmental performance. This study aims to examine the extent to which green management practices can impact employees' green values, especially during the post-Covid-19 phase in Malaysia. The research will use a questionnaire survey of 450 employees and structural equation modelling for data analysis. The findings could enlighten businesses and organisations on green management practices that could enhance employees' green values at the workplace to promote a sustainable environment and contribution toward building a better future.

PurposeThis research attempts to explore how reverse logistics (RL) and sustainable supply chain initiatives (SSCI) affect sustainability performance (SP) in the manufacturing industry under the moderating effects of organisational learning capability (OLC). At the same time, this study is expected to allow manufacturers to advance towards a high level of model generation in the green economy.Design/methodology/approachThe data for this study was obtained from 451 manufacturing companies in the Hebei Province, China. This study develops a model and tests all hypothesised relationships using partial least square–structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) with two-step analytical procedures.FindingsThe results indicate that SSCI and RL have a positive relationship with SP, and SSCI is positively related to RL. Moreover, the OLC moderates the relationship between RL and SP as well as the relationship between SSCI and SP.Research limitations/implicationsThe findings of the study yield valuable managerial insights on how the effective implementation of green practices, coupled with the utilisation of learning capabilities, can contribute to improving the sustainability of manufacturing firms. The study has certain limitations that suggest potential avenues for future research, the most significant of which is our reliance on data from a single country, which may impede the generalisability of the findings.Originality/valueThis study contributes to the existing literature on SP by considering RL and SSCI and offers a unique theoretical argument that describes the relationships by considering the moderating effect of OLC, which has not been empirically explored.

Aim and Objective:This study aims to minimise the travelling distance, operation cost in terms of fuel consumption, and CO 2 emissions. It introduces the Time-Dependency Pollution-Routing Problem (TDPRP) with the implementation of the time-dependency and emission model, including constraints such as the limitation of vehicle capacity and vehicle's speed during different time periods in Thailand. Furthermore, the time window constraint is applied for representing a more realistic model. The main objective is to minimise the total pollution generated because of transportation. Methods:The Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Tabu Search (TS) methods have been used to generate the optimal solution with a variety of experiments. The best solutions from all the experiments have been compared to the original solution in terms of the quality of the solution and the computation time. Results:The best solution was generated by using the TS method with 30,000 trials. The minimum of the total CO 2 emissions was 183.9846 kilograms produced from all of the vehicles during transportation, nearly half from the current transportation plan, which produced 320.94 kilograms of CO 2 emissions. Conclusion:The proposed model optimised both the route and schedules (multiple time periods) for a number of vehicles, for which the transportation during a fixed congestion period could be predicted to avoid traffic congestion and reduce the CO 2 emission. Future research is suggested to add other specific algorithms as well as constraints in order to make the model more realistic.at about 78% of the emissions from all transport modes [2]. CO 2 emissions are the result of fuel consumption and vehicle speed (travelling time). Transportation is the fastest-growing major contributor to global climate change, accounting for 23% of energy-related carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions. Many experts foresee a three-to five-fold increase in CO 2 emissions from transportation in Asian countries by 2030 compared with emissions in 2000 if no changes are made to investment strategies and policies [3]. Traffic congestion directly affects the vehicle speed and the total time spent on the road. In addition, the fuel consumption rate depends on two factors, which are the speed of the vehicle and the load of the vehicle [4].
