The article describes the problem of awakening the cognitive activity of students, arising due to revolutionary transformations in teaching technologies. It shows the need to study the factors that affect cognitive activity and assesses the information content of those factors. Based on the method of pair comparisons, a technology for ranking the factors affecting cognitive activity has been developed. A mathematical model of the formation and processing of expert assessment results and an example of calculations are given, and the feasibility of including the subsystem for evaluating factors affecting cognitive activity in the computer control system of the university is shown. The structure of an adaptive e-learning system based on the technology of taking into account the factors that form the cognitive independence of students is described Experiments carried out in 3 universities of Ukraine have shown that the use of the developed mathematical model and information technology allows to increase significantly academic performance and to decrease the frequency of refusals from independent work of students using the e-learning environment.

The incorporation of digital technology in education represents a substantial transformation in the realm of academia. In the present day, with new technology being readily available to both educators and students, educational institutions encourage their students to embrace it, enabling students facing geographical constraints to easily continue their education through internet-based learning. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the viewpoints of undergraduate students in the field of mass communication concerning the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the UAE. Based on a Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the data were gathered using structured questionnaires. Results revealed that knowledge sharing and accessibility are significant factors affecting the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness among the undergraduate students. Further, perceived ease of use significantly affects perceived usefulness. Finally, both perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness remained as significant factors regarding ICT acceptance among the Emirati students. It is concluded that educational institutions must invest significantly in robust IT infrastructure. This step ensures that e-learning experiences are seamless and accessible to all students. Further, to address some students’ connectivity challenges, offering alternative access options or providing offline resources can be beneficial. Finally, the practical implications and limitations are discussed.

Background: E-learning has expanded recently in response to the social distance measures during COVID-19 pandemic. A part of the learning process is evaluating its effectiveness and impact on learners.Aim: to examine nursing students' perceptions of e-learning during COVID-19 pandemic.Methods: A literature search to identify publications on perceptions of e-learning was conducted via three databases. Conclusion:Sixty five articles were included and reviewed. The articles addressed the following: (1) benefits of e-learning, (2) drawbacks and challenges (3) Students' interaction, (4) e-learning environment (5) students' engagement and satisfaction, (6) e-learning during COVID-19 pandemic, and ( 7) Clinical training during COVID-19 pandemic. Shifting to E-learning during the COVID-19 pandemic has many benefits that positively impact student health status and learning outcome, although it has several drawbacks and barriers that can affect the learning process quality. Finally, implementing e-learning is not an easy task; higher education institutions should consider several factors to provide the students with an efficient learning process.
