RESUMÉMalgré une exposition des paysans aux Tics sur l'information de production agricole, la contribution de ceux-ci dans ce domaine n'est encore satisfaisante. Par conséquent, une étude a été menée pour informer notre audience sur les facteurs affectant l'utilisation de ces Tics par une révision des Tics et les articles publiés sur ces Tics en utilisant la Théorie Ancrée. Les facteurs avantage relatif, compatibilité, simplicité, l'influence sociale, observabilité, alphabétisation, savoir-faire Tics et qualité de l'information affectent positivement l'utilisation de ces Tics tandis que et le cout excessif des Tics affectent négativement leurs utilisations. Mots-clés: Tics, agriculture, intrants agricoles, paysans, accès, utilisation ABSTRACTDespite farmers' exposition to ICTs on agricultural input information, their contribution to the access and use of agricultural input information is far from expectation. This study therefore, reviewed these ICTs in developing countries to extract the factors that affect ICTs' adoption by small-scale famers using the Grounded Theory. The factors Relative Advantage, Compatibility, Simplicity, Social Influence, Observability, Literacy, ICTs' Skills were identified as affecting positively ICTs' use while the High Cost was identified as negatively affecting these ICTs.

The research was conducted to identify the maladies faced by the farming community in Koppal district of Karnataka state and to get the remedies for the problems by the respondents. The exploratory study was carried out in Koppal district of Karnataka state. Total of 120 respondents were investigated using pre tested interview schedule and the sample was selected using multistage random sampling. Four taluk as were considered for the study. Ex post facto design of research was followed. The statistical tools such as frequency, percentage and further garret ranking were used to rank the maladies and remedies based on the interaction with the respondents. Lack of adequate skills in using ICT tools (89.20%), high cost of ICT tools (45.80%) and Fear of using modern gadgets or internet (25.0%) were the most severe technical, economic and socio-physical constraints experienced by the respondents. More training programme on how to use ICT (87.50%), opening of computer information centres at every village (68.33%) and provision of market information and website in reach of farmers (62.50%) were the suggested solutions to the identified constraints to the use of ICT in descending order. Unlocking the constraints to the ICT via the identified way out will enhance the livelihood of the respondents via adequate use of information.

ICT for informal workers in Sub-Saharan Africa: Systematic review and analysis

In Africa, wide diffusion of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), particularly mobile phones and Internet technology, has opened new opportunities for informal workers. New opportunities include better access to information, improved welfare, reduction of search and transaction costs, and improved competitiveness. Despite these opportunities, there is limited scientific knowledge about the available technologies applied in the informal economic sector in Africa. In this research, we reviewed recent ICT projects and initiatives designed for informal economy in Sub-Saharan Africa through the lens of design philosophies, applied technology, and the services offered. Our findings show low level of ICT uptake by informal workers, scarce use of user-centered design principles, lack of design science research approaches, and uneven distribution of ICT solutions among informal workers. We recommend the software developers to strive towards implementing ICT solutions that are designed based on the reallife challenges faced by informal workers.
