This paper aims to find out bank employees' awareness level towards mutual funds and their impact on investment in the mutual fund. The study was conducted using a simple random sampling design of 262 employees working in different banks in Tripura, India. The size of the population was 815 employees. The data was collected using a structured questionnaire. Ordinal logistic regression analysis and chi-square test were used to assess the impact of employees' awareness on investment in mutual funds. It was found that the overall level of awareness of bank employees in Tripura towards mutual funds was high, and the level of awareness and volume of investment in the mutual fund are directly related. We conducted a preliminary evaluation study on the awareness level of mutual funds of bank employees using ten multiple questions having one option correct. This study will provide a complete informative summary to the policymaker, bank employees, and non-bank employees to make decisions for investment. It will help to take all necessary steps to spread updated awareness about mutual funds among investors. The study consists of several vital inputs which will be useful to the academician to go for further study in detail. Further research may be done in this field by taking another variable factor that needs to be considered to measure the employees' awareness level.

Assessing Relative Weight of Determinants of Investment in Index Scheme of Mutual Funds

The main aim of this study is to assess the relative weight of determinants of investment in Index schemes of mutual funds. The target population for the study came out to be 880. Using a simple random sampling method, the sample size was determined to be 268. Of these, 262 bank employees responded to the questionnaire, and the rest 6 were reluctant. A 95% confidence interval and ±5% margin of error have been used to estimate the overall sample confidence level. For the practice of data, the collection questionnaire method was used. Ordinal logistic regression and Kendall are used to assess the relative weight of determinants of investment in different index schemes of mutual funds. The study discovered that various psychological characteristics like risk perception and attitude are significant determinants of mutual fund investment in Tripura. Also, the interaction effect with demographic and psychological factors influences the volume of investment in mutual funds in Tripura. The study has good inputs for the fund managers of mutual fund Companies. They can know the determinants of investments in mutual funds and their impact on the volume of investment. This study will guide the policymaker on which determinants should be given more weight. The study will assist in designing a strategy for what level of training is required to improve psychological factors toward investment in the mutual fund. The study is very original. It is first attempted to assess the relative weight of determinants for preferring index schemes of the mutual fund.

The study intends to identify the factors that affect the risk perception of investors towards equity shares and further identifies the association between the identified factors. The study aims to conduct a thorough analysis of the factors affecting risk perception along with measurement of their influence on risk perception in respect of equity shares using Social Network Analysis (SNA). The factors influencing risk perception in equity shares have been identified through review of literature. Delphi technique was employed to determine the association between the factors and the significance of the impact of each of the factors was analysed using SNA. The study found that culture and education are most critical factors among the other factors influencing risk perception in respect of equity shares. While the factors such as capacity of investors, framing effect and loss aversion does not have much impact on the risk perception. The study will help the investors in making decision to invest in equity shares. The present study also gives avenues for the future research by providing the area where more research is needed.
