Facilitating Ontology Development with Continuous Evaluation

Abstract: In this paper we propose facilitating ontology development by constant evaluation of steps in the process of ontology development. Existing methodologies for ontology development are complex and they require technical knowledge that business users and developers don't poses. By introducing ontology completeness indicator developer is guided throughout the development process and constantly aided by recommendations to progress to next step and improve the quality of ontology. In evaluating the ontology, several… Show more

“…In our further work we intend to focus our efforts on further improving the approach by introducing additional socio-technical aspects of the development team that have been found to play an important role in successful SDM adoption [7]. We also intend to examine possibilities to use our approach for selection of other types of methodologies like methodologies in the field of ontology development [8], model driven development [9] and reverse engineering [10]. Furthermore, we will examine the possibility to use the approach for selection of specialised software development and modelling frameworks [11].…”

“…They propose a global ontology to let agents work with heterogeneous domains using a wireless network and the intention is to provide customization about different environment services based on user location and profile. An important aspect is also continuous evaluation of developed ontologies that authors deal with in (Lavbič & Krisper 2010).…”
