Facile Synthesis of 2-Nitroalkanols Mediated with LiAlH₄as Catalyst

Abstract

A variety of aldehydes reacted with nitroalkanes in the presence of catalytic amount of LiAlH 4 to give 2-nitroalkanols at 0°C in excellent yields (82~98%).
