Facile Synthesis and Self‐Assembly of Zinc (2‐Diethoxyphosphorylethynyl)porphyrins

Abstract: The synthesis of zinc (2‐diethoxyphosphorylethynyl)porphyrins and their self‐organization in solid state and in solution are reported. Copper‐cocatalyzed Sonogashira reaction involving bromoporphyrins and diethyl ethynylphosphonate was used to prepare meso‐substituted derivatives Zn4 and Zn5 bearing one or two ethynylphosphonate substituents at the macrocycle. In contrast, copper‐free Sonogashira coupling of 2‐bromoporphyrin with diethyl ethynylphosphonate is more convenient to prepare porphyrin Zn6 bearing th… Show more

“…In the course of our investigation of the use of diethyl ethynylphosphonate in the synthesis of organophosphonates we decided to use it for the preparation of trifluoromethyl-substituted phosphonates by using available 1-(2-aminophenyl)-2,2,2-trifluoroethan-1-onesversatile reagents for the synthesis of various trifluoromethyl substituted compounds . To the best of our knowledge, the protocols of the synthesis of organophosphorus compounds using 1-(2-aminophenyl)-2,2,2-trifluoroethan-1-ones and 2-ethynylphosphonates are absent in the literature.…”
