“…As shown in Figure A, Bi/BiOBr:Yb,Er/C has an obvious wrinkled morphology, which can be ascribed to the formation of carbon species. In corresponding high‐resolution TEM (HRTEM) images (Figure B), similar with that of Bi/BiOBr/C (Figure ), 2 d spacings of 0.278 nm and 0.328 nm are found and can be indexed to (110) plane of BiOBr and (012) plane of metallic Bi, respectively . It is interesting to note that the (110) facet spacings of BiOBr is slightly decreased (Figure B), due to smaller radii of Yb 3+ and Er 3+ ions than that of Bi 3+ , which agrees well with the peak shift in XRD pattern.…”

“…In this decade, bismuth oxybromide (BiOBr) has received much attention due to its unique layered‐structure mediated fantastic optical and electronic properties. However, BiOBr has a band gap energy of about 2.8 eV, which means that it can only utilize the solar light only far to wavelength of 443 nm . In recent years, the rare earth‐doped BiOX (X = Cl, Br, I) with NIR up‐conversion properties began to be reported, such as Yb/Er‐doped BiOX (X = Cl, Br) nanoplates, layered BiOCl:Er 3+ poly‐crystals, polycrystalline BiOCl:Er 3+ /Yb 3+ , etc.…”

“…The HRTEM images of Bi 2 O 2 CO 3 and Bi–Bi 2 O 2 CO 3 exhibit a high crystallinity of Bi 2 O 2 CO 3 nanosheet and Bi nanoparticles as given in Fig. 2c, d. The inter-planar distance between the fringes are about 0.276 and 0.32 nm, which correspond to the (110) crystal plane of Bi 2 O 2 CO 3 and (012) crystal plane of Bi nanoparticles, respectively [38, 47]. The selected area electron diffraction (SAED) pattern obtained from the HRTEM images (Fig.…”

“…Several Bi nanoparticles based nanocomposites like Bi/BiOCl, Bi/Bi 2 O 3, and Bi/BiOI exhibit enhanced photocatalytic activity comparing to their counterpart [3537]. Recently, Bi nanoparticles based heterojunctions with semiconductor have been an intense research area due to their enhanced charge separation and improved photocatalytic efficacies [3840]. However, Bi nanoparticles decorated Bi 2 O 2 CO 3 nanosheets have not been considered up to date.…”

“…Therefore, the construction of composites based on the graphenelike BN, matrix for achieving effective photocatalytic performance has been widely studied . As a novel layered semiconductor material, BiOBr is drawing much attention because of its excellent electrical properties, suitable ribbon position, and excellent visible‐light photocatalytic performance , . In this paper, the composite of g‐C 3 N 4 and BiOBr were successfully prepared, the synthesized g‐C 3 N 4 /BiOBr heterojunction forms a Z‐type structure.…”
