“…The Ti–O–B band appears at 1398 cm –1 , showing that TiO 2 nanoparticles have successfully reacted with H 3 BO 3 . 58 , 59 Furthermore, the peaks at 1346 and 1131 cm –1 refer to the absorption band of N–B 47 and the stretching vibration of Si–O–C, 60 , 61 verifying that KH550 has reacted with the PVA sponge and TiO 2 nanoparticles have been firmly anchored onto the skeletons of the PVA sponge. In addition, the observed peak at 1242 cm –1 is due to the stretching vibration of the C–F group, 61 , 62 revealing the chemical modification of FDTS on the TiO 2 –PVA sponge.…”

Thus, the preparation of the TiO 2 –PVA sponge has been demonstrated by the FTIR spectra when compared with that of the pristine PVA sponge.…”

“…Among these nanomaterials, TiO 2 nanoparticles have been widely used in the fabrication of superhydrophobic papers because of their low cost, nontoxicity, and high chemical stability. , For example, Gao et al reported that superhydrophobic filter paper can be fabricated by decorating amorphous TiO 2 and epoxy resin, and the resulting paper showed efficient oil/water separation and antiultraviolet properties . Ren et al found that superhydrophobic TiO 2 @stearic acid/chitosan coatings can be achieved on various substrates (i.e., cotton fabric, sponge, and filter paper), and the as-prepared filter paper possessed reversible wettability for controllable oil/water separation .…”

“…Stepien et al prepared TiO 2 nanoparticle-coated superhydrophobic papers using a liquid flame spray process, and the superhydrophobic paper exhibited switchable wettability using either ultraviolet or oven treatment . Teng et al demonstrated that durable superhydrophobic papers can be achieved by introducing nano-TiO 2 as pigments and epoxy resin as adhesives and exhibited excellent chemical stability, long-term stability, and self-cleaning properties . Teng et al obtained durable superhydrophobic papers consisting of PDMS and modified TiO 2 nanoparticles via a roll coating process .…”
