“…In our previous work, as the first biomacromolecule, bovine serum albumin (BSA) via its nonpolar groups such as benzene rings and disulfide groups was firmly bonded on TMDs (e.g., MoS 2 , WS 2 , and WSe 2 ) through their strong hydrophobic interaction (Figure 6a,b). [98] As reported, the WSe 2 -BSA nanosheets were employed as efficient photothermal moieties and photosensitizing agent carrier for photodynamic therapy (Figure 7). These outstanding features render BSA-stabilized TMD nanosheets a star materials in drug delivery system and tumor therapy.…”

“…With good biocompatibility and promising photothermal property, Tris‐stabilized MoS 2 nanosheets will be a desired agent in photothermal therapy. Herein, we deeply studied the inhibition of tumor growth by Tris‐stabilized MoS 2 nanosheets . As shown in Figure A, tumors treated with Tris‐stabilized MoS 2 nanosheets formed a scab after NIR irradiation.…”

“…[191] In recent years, facile noncovalent functionalizations have been explored with molecules such as bovine serum albumin (BSA), [192] chitosan, [187] polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), [179a] and other polymers. “…Upon irradiation with NIR light with different power densities, laser-power-dependent release of DOX from MoS 2 -CS-DOX was observed. [192] Efficient loading onto BSA-exfoliated MoS 2 nanosheets by hydrophobic interaction was achieved at 180% weight ratio. This result, therefore, suggested the use of NIR as a controllable trigger for drug release from the nanocomplex in vitro and in vivo, which could regulate their toxicity ( Figure 25B-E).…”
