Fabrication of Nano Flower‐shaped Platinum on Glassy Carbon Electrode as a Sensitive Sensor for Lead Electrochemical Analysis

Abstract: Platinum nanoflowers modified glassy carbon electrodes (PtNFs/GCE) was fabricated simply for lead determination in water samples. The modified electrodes were prepared by electrodeposition in hexachloroplatinic acid solution at constant potential. The influence of deposition time and potential on surface morphology, chemical composition, electrochemical properties of electrode were investigated. At À 0.2 V of potential and 150 s of deposition duration, platinum developed as nanoflower shape and scattered dense… Show more

“…[41] Electrodeposited polycrystalline platinum on a glassy carbon surface does not, however, display (110) and (100) crystalline facets and it is in fact the (111) facet that dominates. [42] This is also the case on our platinum surface, electrodeposited onto a glassy carbon support, having been obtained through potential cycling (see Figure 5). The remainder of the peaks (not labeled) in the diffractogram are those of carbon.…”

“…Mercury, bismuth, antimony, tin, and indium-based metal film electrodes have also been used for trace metal detection, 17–21 but the lower chemical stability of such electrodes under atmospheric conditions limits their applications, despite the high sensitivity. Recently, rod-like poly tyrosine/Bi, 22 vertically aligned two-dimensional MoS 2 nanofilms, 23 flower-like MoS 2 /rGo composites, 24 amino-functionalized attapulgite, 25 and flower-shaped Pt modified electrodes 26 have allowed sensitive detection of Pb. Moreover, calixarene/SPCE, 27 exfoliated graphite oxide, 28 carbon nanotubes-benzo-18-crown composites, 29 cyclodextrins, 30 and poly-xylenol orange-modified electrodes 31 have been reported for selective detection of Pb.…”

“…While hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ), as one of the representative reactive oxygen species (ROS), plays a critical role for aging and disease in physiological process [8, 9]. So far, a series of excellent results have been achieved on the separately electrochemical detection of heavy metal ions (Pb(II)) and biological molecules (H 2 O 2 ) [10, 11]. However, in order to extend the practicability of electrochemical techniques, it would be greatly important and meaningful to explore a dual‐functional electrochemical sensor that applied in environmental monitoring and medical diagnosis.…”
