Fabrication of an immunosensor for early and ultrasensitive determination of human tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) in myocardial infraction and breast cancer patients

Abstract: Sensitive detection of biomarkers will mean accurate and early diagnosis of diseases. A tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) has a crucial role in many cardiovascular diseases and it is related to many processes such as angiogenesis in cancer cells. Therefore, sensitive determination of tPA is important in diagnosis and clinical research. tPA monoclonal antibody was covalently attached onto single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) using diimide-activated imidation coupling. Functionalized SWCNTs were immobilized on… Show more

“…It is well known that CNTs are known for their mechanical, thermal, electrical, and adsorption properties, which make them an efficient tool in electrochemical sensors and biosensors. 44 In line with the existing literature on PQ's response to cyclic voltammetry, the obtained cyclic voltammogram can be explained as follows. In the potential range of 0.2 to −1.0 V two reduction peaks are observed due to the formation of PQ +.…”

“…40 With the help of the available literature, the obtained cyclic voltammograms against the herbicide, PQ can be explained as follows. 41 While scanning the potential from 0.2 V to −1.0 V, two cathodic waves are observed due to the formation of PQ°from PQ 2+ via PQ +. at the applied overpotentials of ∼ −0.13 V (PQ +. )…”

“…As a result of this fact, the protein is essential in the human body in relation to angiogenesis in cancer cells [ 123 ]. The protein was detected with LOD of 0.026 ng/mL in a linear range from 0.1 to 1.0 ng/mL [ 124 ]. A label-free biosensor was fabricated by the functionalization of SWCNTs with antibodies immobilized, and such a bionanoconjugate was subsequently immobilized onto a GCE surface ( Figure 14 ) [ 124 ] (Approach 1).…”
