Fabrication and Application of a Novel Modified Electrode Based on Multiwalled Nanotubes/Cerium(III) 12‐Tungstophosphoric Acid Nanocomposite

Abstract: A novel multiwalled nanotubes (MWNTs)/Cerium(III) 12-tungstophosphoric acid (CePW) nanocomposite film glassy carbon electrode was prepared in this paper. Electrochemical behaviors of the CePW/MWNTs modified electrode were investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). This modified electrode brought new capabilities for electrochemical devices by combining the advantages of carbon nanotubes, rare-earth, and heteropoly-acids. The results demonstrated that the CePW/MWNT… Show more

“…As shown in Figure 2, on the bare glassy carbon electrode (curve a), there was almost a very small semicircle domain as was reported in literatures [32,33], implying a very low electron-transfer resistance to the redox-probe dissolved in the electrolyte solution. However, deposition of Zn/Al LDH film on the electrode surface caused the appearance of the semicircle portion at higher frequencies, and a line at lower frequencies.…”

“…Heteropolyacids have many applications in science researches [4][5][6][7] and industrial production [8], and it could also replace HF, H 2 SO 4 , and other traditional inorganic corrosive acids in the synthesis of polytetrahydrofuran in mild conditions [9,10]. Because of low specific area (\10 m 2 /g) and dissolution in polar solution, heteropolyacid is not easy to separate from the reaction mixture and its catalytic reaction stability is poor [11].…”
