Extraction–Pyrolytic Method for TiO2 Polymorphs Production

Abstract: The unique properties and numerous applications of nanocrystalline titanium dioxide (TiO2) are stimulating research on improving the existing and developing new titanium dioxide synthesis methods. In this work, we demonstrate for the first time the possibilities of the extraction–pyrolytic method (EPM) for the production of nanocrystalline TiO2 powders. A titanium-containing precursor (extract) was prepared by liquid–liquid extraction using valeric acid C4H9COOH without diluent as an extractant. Simultaneous t… Show more

“…Additionally, it is worth noting that the distribution of the inorganic component in the polymer matrix is quite uniform without significant aggregation, which may indicate the presence of the appropriate physicochemical interaction between them. This is especially important for the manufacture of appropriate fluorescent matrices based on TiO 2 , when the latter is doped with a luminescent impurity [65][66][67].…”

“…1081 cm -1 was assigned to Ti-O-H deformation, while the broad band at ca. 600 cm -1 was assigned to the O-Ti-O bond in the TiO2 lattice [39,40]. Figure 3 shows the ATR-FTIR spectra of both the coating produced and pure lauric acid.…”

“…The best optical characteristics were obtained by the prepared nanocomposites by designing a coating layer on a contact lens front surface to fabricate a blue-blocking contact lens. In the continuation of our work [31][32][33][34][35] on nanomaterials, herein, we report the synthesis of TiO 2 NPs and Er 3+ /TiO 2 by the impregnation method [36][37][38].…”
