“…The combination of dual‐color GRASP and engram‐tagging technique (Choi et al, 2018; Lee et al, 2023) or neuronal inhibition marker (Dong et al, 2023) during different learning tasks (e.g., space or object vs. time) will visualize the difference of synaptic connectivity relating to different types of memory. The oscillatory activity of cell‐type‐specific pathway can be further elucidated by extracting pathway‐specific activity from local‐field‐potential data using blind‐source separation technique (Fernandez‐Ruiz et al, 2012, 2017, 2021; Herreras et al, 2015; Makarova et al, 2011; Osanai et al, 2023; Schomburg et al, 2014) or by utilizing genetically encoded voltage indicators (Cho et al, 2020; Kannan et al, 2022; Marshall et al, 2016).
