External Inflammatory Root Resorption: Management of a Tooth with hopeless Prognosis

Abstract: The treatment of external root resorption and associated periodontal defect can be challenging to the most ingenious clinician. A correct diagnosis and an understanding of the etiology and dynamics of root resorption, which is the progressive loss of dentin and cementum through action of osteoclastic cells, are critical for effective management.
