Abstract:The objective of this study was to determine the effects of anion replacement on volume-sensitive anion current in guinea-pig ventricular myocytes. Myocytes in the conventional whole-cell voltage-clamp configuration were superfused and dialysed with Na(+)-, K(+)-, and Ca(2+)-free solution, and exposed to external 75 mM Cl- solution of one-half normal osmolality. Prolonged exposures to hyposmotic solution promoted the development of outwardly-rectifying currents that were inactivated at high positive potentials… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
