Abstract:The development and promotion of entrepreneurial behavior is an important ingredient in developing entrepreneurship ventures. This study examined the factors influencing college students’ intention to engage in entrepreneurial activities. Applying the Theory of Planned Behavior as the theoretical foundation the structural equation modeling technique through Smart PLS 3.0 was used to analyze the hypothesized relationship in this study. The results indicate that all the proposed research hypotheses were statisti… Show more
“…The same finding was also found in a study conducted by Tsordia and Papadimitriou in business school students' entrepreneurial intentions in Greek [25]. The comparison study conducted by Mensah et al also shows that the three antecedents or factors positive effect on the formation of entrepreneurial intentions of students in China [26], so the hypothesis in this study is The results of the meta-analysis conducted by Zhao, Seibert and Lumpkin showed that, just like the career choice model, individual personality factors play a significant role important in forming one's intention to become an entrepreneur [27] [28]. Most research on EI often associates personality with focusing on the Big Five personalities [28][8].…”

“…The results of this study indicate that of the three antecendents or factors , the attitude variable and PBC In terms of attitude towards entrepreneurship, the role of the university as a source to gain knowledge related to entrepreneurship can help students to get the right mindset towards activities entrepreneurship which will ultimately improve their attitude towards entrepreneurship. Here, universities play a role in arming students with the right beliefs, processes, thinking, behaviour, and experience to launch a new business, which can positively impact their entrepreneurial intentions [26]. In addition, PBC or perception individual's confidence in himself to carry out entrepreneurial activities will also affect the formation of entrepreneurial intentions [13].…”
Entrepreneurship in Indonesia is still relatively low and lagging behind other ASEAN countries because the number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia has only reached 3.47% of the total population. College students have become one of the vital sources of supply for entrepreneurs in Indonesia. Therefore, to increase the number of entrepreneurs, the Indonesian government encourages higher education to produce graduates looking for work and creating jobs. Even though the government and universities have tried to increase the number of entrepreneurial students, the number of students who choose entrepreneurship as a professional career choice is still low. This research was conducted to see how students' entrepreneurial intention (EI) in Indonesia as a forecaster of entrepreneurial behaviour. The research analyses the effect of proactive personality traits and the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) as an integrated model, with the TPB dimension as a mediator. The research was conducted by using judgmental sampling of 387 students in Indonesia. Data collection was carried out using an e-survey, and data were analyzed using structural equation modelling with Partial Least Square (PLS). Research result shows that proactive personality and TPB are predictors of students' entrepreneurial intentions. This study also shows that TPB mediates the relationship between proactive personality towards Student' entrepreneurial intention. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the EI study of students in Indonesia. Scientifically, this research is also expected to enrich the EI literature by integrating proactive personality as an antecedent of TPB and EI.

“…For college students, entrepreneurship is often motivated by personal pursuits, interest, and attitudes toward entrepreneurship and policy support for entrepreneurship is also an incentive for them to choose entrepreneurship as a career ( Mensah et al, 2021 ). However, the economic recession and recovery and the rise of some industries triggered by the unexpected event of COVID-19 have created more uncertainty about their career choices.…”

The new coronary pneumonia epidemic has had a tremendous impact on the world economic situation, causing a large number of enterprises to suffer from serious losses, but also bringing a large number of entrepreneurial opportunities. For college students, whether the opportunities brought by the epidemic can attract them to step into the entrepreneurial path becomes a question worthy of attention in the process of restoring economic vitality and guiding students’ employment and entrepreneurship. In this article, a mediation model was constructed and tested through 245 questionnaire data by combining event system theory, regulatory focus theory, and emotion cognitive evaluation theory. The results showed that defensive regulatory focus and fear of failure and facilitative regulatory focus and fear of failure were all able to continuously mediate the effect of event intensity of the new coronary pneumonia epidemic on the entrepreneurial intentions of college students.
“…The theoretical model of planned behavior includes three elements: attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control. Attitude refers to the entrepreneurs’ evaluation of this entrepreneurial behavior in entrepreneurship, which can be either positive or negative ( Mensah et al, 2021 ). Chen (2019) and Nithya and Lakshmi (2019) believed that subjective norms are the expectations of entrepreneurs who are influenced by the views of their parents, friends, and relatives.…”
To promote the development of the rural economy and improve entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities, college students’ willingness and behavior toward rural tourism entrepreneurship were investigated in this study. First of all, based on the previous research results, the influencing factor model was determined for college students’ entrepreneurial intention. Second, a questionnaire survey was made to collect data from a university in Xi’an City. Finally, the artificial neural network (ANN), improved by a genetic algorithm (GA) based on an artificial intelligence network, was used to study the relationship between college students’ entrepreneurial intention and behavior, and the simulation was carried out on MATLAB2013b software. The results show that the average evaluation accuracy is 81.13% for 60 groups of data using the unmodified back propagation neural network (BPNN) algorithm, while the average evaluation accuracy is 92.17% for the BPNN algorithm improved and optimized by GA, with an ascent of 11.04%. Therefore, the BPNN algorithm improved and optimized by GA is better than the unmodified BPNN algorithm; It is also feasible and effective in the analysis of influencing factors of college students’ entrepreneurial intention and behavior. The research provides a basis for colleges and universities to carry out entrepreneurship education on a large scale and to cultivate their innovative talents.
