“…They started with handwritten concordances but then delegated them to computer operations to develop machine-produced concordances (Krämer, 2023). But the majority of humanists think that Father Roberto Busa, an Italian Jesuit priest, was an early pioneer in humanities computing despite the fact that the field has been hotly debated and is now expanding swiftly (Joo et al , 2022). A new area of study known as “digital humanities” has emerged as a result of humanities experts now considering using databases and digital tools in their research.…”

“…A platform often has to include tools for digital reading, information retrieval, word frequency analysis and text exploration to enable DH to study effectively (Chen et al , 2022). Joo et al (2022) explored the area of DH using a variety of bibliometrics methodologies, including co-authorship analysis, co-citation analysis and bibliographic coupling. Humanities resource management and storage techniques have evolved as a result of new information technologies, moving from databases with scanned images and associated metadata for information retrieval systems to DH databases.…”

“…This paper explores these questions through the microcosm of Digital Humanities (DH), an emerging field that is closely intertwined with Information Science (Bawden and Robinson, 2012, p. 7;Joo et al, 2021;Su and Zhang, 2021). Digital Humanities offers an important case study on which to conduct this research because of its "small-world" composition (Wang and Inaba, 2009;Grandjean, 2016;Tang et al, 2017), its demographic formation (as a predominately white male-oriented community, Weingart and Eichmann-Kalwara, 2017;Gao et al, 2018), and its geographical distribution of languages (forming an Anglophone-oriented network as shown in studies by De la Cruz et al, 2015;Weingart and Eichmann-Kalwara, 2017;Gao et al, 2018).…”
