Purpose Despite rapid growth in blockchains, there was limited discussion about non-technical and technical factors on blockchain governance in the extant literature. This study aims to contribute new knowledge to the literature on potential factors affecting the adoption, governance and scale-up of blockchain technologies in the health-care and energy sectors, presented in a holistic framework. Design/methodology/approach This study adopts the qualitative case study research methodology to research blockchain governance in practice. The authors contacted a national blockchain consortium to conduct their research on the governance issue of blockchain. Two leading case organizations, one from the health-care industry and another from the energy industry, were deliberately selected for their study for their active role and reputation in the consortium and practical experience in blockchain governance. Findings The developed framework helps identify potential research gaps or concerns on adopting a blockchain as well as assessing blockchain implementation and governance in other industries. Depending on the circumstances, some of the factors can be either drivers or obstacles to further blockchain development. The different forces may also be more or less evident over time as blockchains develop. The two real-world case studies contribute to the information technology governance literature on blockchain governance. Originality/value The results of this case studies will be beneficial for developing theories and empirical models to determine antecedents for achieving consensus and trust in blockchain and testing the relationship between these factors and blockchain governance at different levels. As a result, theories related to the governance of blockchain technologies could be further developed.

Unequal development is a major factor in measuring Indonesia's poverty problem, resulting in areas that are left behind. It is a primary concern of the government and stakeholders since it is unresolved and will lead to more problems in the community. Therefore, the government and stakeholders conduct various village developments to prosper the community. One is Batik village in Kemang, Bogor Regency, Indonesia. The Pakuan University of Bogor initiated the village development program. The collaboration forms a communication network and communication patterns to facilitate the delivery of messages. This study aims to identify and analyze the communication network pattern of stakeholders in the development of Kampung Batik in Kemang, Bogor Regency, Indonesia. This study is designed using a qualitative approach through interviews with relevant stakeholders. The communication network was analyzed using Sociometric Analysis through UCINET VI. The result indicates that the relationship between actors in the development of Kampung Batik is 75.5 percent and categorized as quite strong. Also, the communication pattern formed is an all-channel pattern with five actors who act as the star, bridge, opinion leader, liaison, cosmopolite, and isolate. This model supports the smart economy's potential to develop a smart village.

As the data-analysts job market grows, many colleges and universities have started offering a data analytics curriculum. However, there are potential gaps between the skills business organizations expect of data analysts and the skills universities and colleges teach their students. This study collected 2500+ data-analyst job ads posted on LinkedIn and analyzed them using distribution analysis, cross-tabulation analysis, and cluster analysis. Among many findings, this study identified five most essential nontechnical skills and five most essentials areas of technical skills. In addition, of 90+ computer programs business organizations expect data analysts to use, this study identified SQL, Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Python, and Microsoft Power BI to be the five most essential computer programs for potential data analysts to master.
