Exploration of the main active components and pharmacological mechanism of Yerba Mate based on network pharmacology

Abstract: risk in hypercholesterolaemic patients [5], having antioxidant [6] and anticancer [7] properties, and can be used as a new health care medicine. All the above effects can be attributed to the fact that yerba mate contains a variety of bioactive phytochemicals. Due to the complex interaction between multiple components and targets of yerba mate, it is difficult to explore the bioactive components, potential targets, and pharmacological mechanism of action of yerba mate by conventional methods. With the developme… Show more

“…Researchers indicate the possibility of using its bioactive ingredients in the treatment of as many as 350 diseases, including breast cancer, asthma and Alzheimer's disease. They determined that the target of the pharmacological action of yerba mate is mainly amyloid-beta precursor protein and vascular endothelial growth factor A [6]. Among the many biological properties of YM, the protective effect on the cardiovascular system and the prevention of obesity are also noteworthy [7,8].…”
