Exploration de l’indicateur standardisé de précipitation à l’aide d’une analyse statistique régionale

Abstract: . As a water stress index, the SPI provides an historical context to the precipitation fallen over the last i days. A regional analysis allows the SPI to be used beyond its usual diagnostic function, by quantifying the probability that precipitation to come will put an end to an ongoing drought. The proposed regional analysis relies on the precipitation gathered at 110 meteorological stations within Quebec. Five homogeneous regions have been established through the use of a discordancy test and heterogeneity t… Show more

“…The L-moments introduced by Hosking (1990) are widely used for fitting distribution functions for regional analysis purposes (Stedinger et al, 1993;Hosking and Wallis, 1997;Anctil et al, 2002;Eslamian and Feizi, 2007;Johnson et al, 2012;Saf, 2009;Nyeko-Ogiramoi et al, 2012;Ellouze and Abida, 2008;Sarhadi and Modarres, 2011;Nezhad et al, 2010;Li et al, 2010;Gholami et al, 2012;Eslamian et al, 2012). Compared to conventional moments, the linearity of L-moments has the advantage of being insensitive to extreme values (Vogel and Fennessey, 1993;Sankarasubramanian and Srinivasan, 1999).…”
