Experiments on metamaterials for sub-wavelength antenna insulation at PEC boundaries

Abstract: In the present work, a metamaterial‐based insulator is proposed as a mean to achieve both highly compact and loosely coupled array of antennas. Its main working principle is summarized through a general qualitative analysis. The theoretical results are supported by experimental evidences. The chosen operating frequency is 2.4 GHz considering that it is a usual frequency for many indoor wireless applications. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 59:1420–1423, 2017

“…A comparison of this work with published literatures is tabulated in Table in terms of number of bands, size, isolation, polarization and gain. The configuration in References are smaller in size than the proposed work. The proposed configuration has dual bands whereas the designs in References consist of a single band.…”

“…It is more convenient to use a multiband antenna instead of multiple antenna elements to operate in multiband, because the latter leads to increase in size of the device. Various techniques to design single band, multiband, and UWB MIMO antenna are reported in recent years in engineering community . In Ref.…”
