“…e mechanical model is an important theoretical research method to reveal the mechanism and criterion of fault rockburst. In China and other foreign countries, Pan Dai et al [24,25] put forward the disturbance response criterion for fault rockburst and considered that the increase of shear stress and the decrease of normal stress on the fault plane are the main reasons for the occurrence of fault rockburst, and the interaction between the medium of the fault zone and its surrounding rock mechanical properties is the secondary reason affecting the occurrence of fault rockburst. In this way, the criterion of fault disturbance response well explains the influencing factors and mechanism of rockburst induced by fault instability, and it is the combination and extension of the elastic rebound theory proposed by Carpinteri and Borla in 1951 [26] and the stick-slip theory proposed by Brace and Byerlee in 1966 [27].…”

“…Gao and co-workers [ 22 , 23 ] proposed the strong–soft–strong structure theory of rockburst events in mine roadways and analysed their wave absorption and energy absorption characteristics, failure criterion and energy absorption effect. Pan and co-workers [ 24 , 25 ] described a flexible-coupling fast-yielding support based on pendulum wave theory, fast energy absorption and yielding support. Lü & Pan [ 26 ] studied the propagation and attenuation of stress waves in roadways, obtained the energy and stress criterion of stress waves in the surrounding rock, and proposed a rigid-flexible coupled support system.…”

“…Dai et al [23], designed a split steel sleeve with a wall thickness of 4 mm and length of 150 mm, which was fabricated from Q235 mild steel ductile metal. Furthemore, Dai et al [24] stated that, the constant resistance value of the splitting energy absorber is as high as 125-150 kN, while the energy-absorption efficiency is 0.111-0.127 kJ/mm.…”
