ResumoO presente artigo procura analisar se as ações socioeducativas realizadas pelo Instituto Engevix podem ser consideradas práticas de inovações sociais. Este Instituto desenvolve ações no âmbito da educação, procurando atender determinada parcela de uma comunidade da cidade de Florianópolis que vive em situação de vulnerabilidade econômico-social. A pesquisa consiste em um estudo de caso desenvolvido com os informantes-chave e beneficiados do projeto. Para subsidiar esta investigação foram abordadas visões teóricas das concepções de ações socioeducativas e inovações sociais, buscando detectar os possíveis elos entre elas. De modo geral, tanto as ações socioeducativas quanto as práticas de inovações sociais auxiliam no processo de desenvolvimento social. Mesmo podendo existir como dois processos independentes, há a possibilidade de convergência e fusão entre elas. A investigação evidencia que mesmo não sendo original, o projeto socioeducativo promovido pelo Instituto Engevix configura-se numa prática de inovação social, pois contribui para a inclusão dos sujeitos que dele participam. Constata-se, contudo, com o aprofundamento teórico da pesquisa que há, no projeto, um aspecto dissonante em relação às linhas definidoras das práticas de inovação

This study explores the progress of social innovation research in a public sector context by systematically analysing its existing body of knowledge to identify areas of societal impact and reveal areas of limitations and potential further research. The findings revealed that most of the studies on social innovation in the public sector are conceptual in nature. The paper presents propositions based on the diagnosed limitations of research in the area. is focused on the marketing and operations management challenges that face entrepreneurs, both in terms of the classic self-employed entrepreneur and also the organizational-entrepreneur. This latter group may operate within a large corporate structure, but share many characteristics with the classic entrepreneur. Extending understanding of how to engage and support organizational entrepreneurs has been the focus of his latest research.

Many community psychologists adhere to a methodological pluralist orientation to research; however, it is often unclear what such a position means in practice. This paper draws out the practical implications of methodological pluralism for community research. It proposes four sets of criteria for how research might be appraised under a pluralistic ethos: criteria applicable to all research, research-relevant community psychology values and principles, criteria specifically applicable to quantitative research, and criteria specifically applicable to qualitative research. The paper also addresses how pluralistic community research may be conducted, at each of three levels: integrating methods within a single study, using different approaches within a research program, and pluralism in the field as a whole.
