Resumo: Este artigo apresenta o desenvolvimento de um estudo de caso, voltado ao desenvolvimento do Pensamento Computacional. O estudo de caso compreendeu a utilização da ferramenta Scratch, permitindo ampliar o conhecimento dos alunos da Escola Estadual de Ensino Médio Lucila Nogueira, localizada na cidade de Boa Vista das Missões/RS. Foram realizadas oficinas práticas utilizando o Scratch para que os alunos desenvolvessem noções de lógica de programação, estimulando o desenvolvimento do Pensamento Computacional e, também, despertando o interesse pela área de Tecnologia da Informação. Os resultados obtidos neste estudo de caso permitiram comprovar que o uso da ferramenta Scratch potencializou os processos de ensino e de aprendizagem relacionados ao Pensamento Computacional, por meio da observação realizada e, também, com base nos resultados obtidos a partir da aplicação de um instrumento de pesquisa.

Previous studies have examined how smartphones influence the life satisfaction of the elderly, but the existence of conflicting conclusions suggests the existence of a “black box”. In this study, using a survey from 941 elders, we examine whether smartphone use can improve life satisfaction of the elders by inducing emotional affordance offered by social networking Apps and functional affordance offered by healthcare system Apps. It is found that both emotional affordance and functional affordance acted as intermediating variables between the use of smartphone and elders' life satisfaction. In addition, it is founded that living arrangement with adult children moderates the positive impact of smartphone use on functional affordance, but there was no such moderating effect on emotional affordance. This study offers insights about how digital healthcare innovation will be applied to increase well-being of elders by applying framework of selective optimization with compensation.

Stereotype threat occurs when people feel concerned about the possibility of confirming, or being negatively judged by, a negative stereotype. This review highlights the applied implications of this phenomenon for older adults. In clinical settings, older adults often feel that their physicians have negative expectations about their abilities because of their age. These feelings of age-based stereotype threat can increase older adults' subjective cognitive complaints and impair their performance on mental status examinations. Other research has shown that stereotype threat also adversely affects older adults' physical performance, motor learning, and driving performance. In workplace settings, older adults who experience stereotype threat also report lower job satisfaction, poorer work-related mental health, and greater intentions to resign or retire. Overall, this review provides evidence that the situational phenomenon of stereotype threat can affect older adults' performance in a variety of applied settings, and this can contribute to age differences in performance.
