Expected range of the output response for the optimum input parameters utilizing the modified Taguchi approach

Abstract: Purpose Scatter in the outcome of repeated experiments is unavoidable due to measurement errors in addition to the non-linear nature of the output responses with unknown influential input parameters. It is a standard practice to select an orthogonal array in the Taguchi approach for tracing optimum input parameters by conducting a few number of experiments and confirm them through additional experimentation (if necessary). The purpose of this paper is to present a simple methodology and its validation with exi… Show more

“…Several investigators adopted Taguchi’s design of experiments utilizing Minitab as a computational tool. The modified Taguchi approach provides the generation of the complete information with a few experiments, the expected range of performance indicators, and also introduces a simple multiobjective optimization procedure.…”

“…The modified Taguchi approach has been extensively evaluated for its effectiveness (Anantha et al, 2023;Buddi et al, 2018a;Dharmendra et al, 2019;Koneru et al, 2022;Rajyalakshmi and Boggarapu, 2019;Satyanarayana et al, 2019Satyanarayana et al, , 2021, with a particular comparison made in (Rajyalakshmi and Nageswara Rao, 2019) against the optimal solutions obtained using a genetic algorithm (GA) and an ensemble of meta-models (EMs) (Zhou et al, 2018) as presented in (Chaudhry and Ahmed, 2014). Furthermore, Chaudhry and Ahmed (2014) introduced a spreadsheet-based GA method specifically designed for optimizing the initial design of aircraft.…”

“…El corte láser ofrece calidad de acabado superior a cualquier otro proceso [5], es mejor que otras herramientas de corte ya que es versátil, sin desgaste, de alta utilización, flexibilidad y alta precisión [6]. El corte usa un haz bajo de potencia, mejor eficiencia y buena calidad de haz (aproximadamente 0,2 mm de ancho de 80-200W) [7].…”
