Abstract:Precision flat surfaces are required for the precision surface plates of measurement instruments and the sliding components of precision machine tools. Precision flat surfaces measuring several tens of millimeters square or more are often created via hand-scraping, which is a hand-finished work. Since a hand-scraped surface is rough, the surface form cannot be measured easily using a typical vertical incident interferometer. An oblique-incident interferometer based on Abramson interferometry has been developed… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
