Technological diseases are diseases of the modern era. Some are caused by occupational exposures, and are marked with direct professional relation, or the action of harmful effects in the workplace. Due to the increasing incidence of these diseases on specific workplaces which may be caused by one or more causal factors present in the workplace today, these diseases are considered as professional diseases. Severity of technological disease usually responds to the level and duration of exposure, and usually occurs after many years of exposure to harmful factor. Technological diseases occur due to excessive work at the computer, or excessive use of keyboards and computer mice, especially the non-ergonomic ones. This paper deals with the diseases of the neck, shoulder, elbow and wrist (cervical radiculopathy, mouse shoulder and carpal tunnel syndrome), as is currently the most common diseases of technology in our country and abroad. These three diseases can be caused by long-term load and physical effort, and are tied to specific occupations, such as occupations associated with prolonged sitting, working at the computer and work related to the fixed telephone communication, as well as certain types of sports (tennis, golf and others).

Clinical Question:Is there evidence to suggest intermittent cervical traction with cervical and scapular strengthening exercises is more effective in decreasing neck and arm pain when compared with cervical and scapular strengthening exercises alone in nonoperative patients with cervical radiculopathy?Clinical Bottom Line:There is currently inconsistent, high-quality evidence that suggests that the use of intermittent cervical traction in addition to strengthening exercises is more effective at decreasing pain in nonoperative patients with cervical radiculopathy when compared with strengthening alone. Future research should continue to examine long-term outcomes associated with cervical radiculopathy patients who use intermittent cervical traction as an intervention.

ÖzOzon, üç oksijen atomundan oluşan, keskin kokulu, havadan ağır renks iz bir gazdır. Medikal ozon ise hastaya daima saf ozon ve saf oksijenin karışımı şeklinde belirli konsantrasyonlarda uygulanır. Pek çok hastalık türünde kullanılan ozon gazı, yan etkilerinin minimal oranda olması nedeniyle tercih sebebidir. Farklı medikal ozon uygulama şekilleri bulunmaktadır. Bel ve boyun ağrıları ise günlük pratikte polikliniğe başvuru nedenlerinin ilk sıralarında yer almaktadır. Lomber ve servikal disk hernileri bu ağrıların başlıca nedenlerinden biridir. Disk hernilerinde ozon tedavisi, klasik tedavi ve cerrahi tedavi ile beraber kullanılabilen tamamlayıcı bir tedavi yöntemidir. Ozon tedavisi, uygulama kolaylığı, tedavideki başarı oranları, düşük yan etki profili sayesinde ağrılı bel ve boyun hastalarında başarılı bir tedaviye yardımcı olur. Disk hernileri sonucu ortaya çıkan bel ve boyun ağrılarının yaşam kalitesini oldukça kötü yönde etkilediği ve toplumdaki sıklığı göz önünde bulundurulduğunda, medikal tedavi, fizik tedavi ve cerrahi tedaviye yardımcı bir yöntem olarak ozon tedavisi önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Ozon tedavisi, boyun ağrısı, bel ağrısı Abstract Ozone consists of three oxygen atoms and is a colorless gas that is heavier than air with a pungent smell. Medical ozone is administered to the patient always in the form of a mixture of pure oxygen and pure ozone and in a certain concentration. The ozone gas, which can be used in many types of diseases, is preferred as its side effects are at minimal rate. There are different forms of medical ozone application. Cervical and lumbar pains are located in the first row of the reasons for applying to the clinics at daily practice. Lumbar and cervical disc herniation is one of the main causes of this pain. Ozone therapy is a complementary treatment which can be used along with conventional and surgical treatment for disc herniation. Ozone therapy allows a successful treatment for patients with cervical and lumbar pain due to its ease of implementation, high success rate in treatment and low side effect profile. Considering the negative effects of cervical and lumbar pain on quality of life and their prevalence in society, ozone therapy has an important place as an adjunctive therapy method to medical treatment, physical therapy and surgical treatment.
