Evaluation of the Development Capability of the New Energy Vehicle Industry: An Empirical Study from China

Abstract: In order to alleviate the pressures of environmental pollution and the energy crisis, and to lay out and capture huge emerging markets as soon as possible, all countries in the world are vigorously developing new energy vehicles (NEVs). This paper analyzes the factors influencing the development capability of the NEV industry from the aspects of autonomy, controllability, and stability, and constructs an evaluation index system. Based on the improved entropy method and the catastrophe progression method, we es… Show more

“…Excessive R&D cost savings reduce the possibility that consumers will purchase NEVs, and the time it takes to reach the goal of the universal popularisation of NEVs will be greatly increased. These results show that it is important for enterprises to increase their R&D investment, and this insight is consistent with the findings of Meng and Jin [9]. When the R&D investment cost is in the normal range, it will not have much of an impact on the consumer market.…”

“…However, the market positioning of each NEV enterprise is different. In the future, we can combine the data on specific NEV enterprises to conduct empirical research, which would be more practical for specific NEV enterprises [2,9]. On the other hand, China's NEV market is still a policy-driven market.…”

“…48 Safety, reliability, and stability, as the basic elements of the development system of IM, are also the basis for evaluating the development level of IM of NEVs. 49 Keeping data information and IM equipment safe can ensure the safety of personnel in all links. 50 Based on advanced technology and methods to effectively detect products, a reliable IM system is established.…”

“…In view of the fact that the selection of new energy supply systems has many conflicting standards, the fuzzy ideal point method is used to rank renewable energy supply systems in a certain region [35]. The entropy method determines the weight of each indicator in the model by judging the discrete degree of an index, so that the development is evaluated objectively [36].…”
