Evaluation of Stable Balance Capacity by Using Bosu Ball Surfaces on Different Pressure Levels

Abstract: The purpose of the study was to evaluate the way in which bimanual and unimanual balanced balance values depend on the technical characteristics of using both Bosu ball surfaces in relation to three pressure levels: 0.6 atm., 0.4 atm. and 0.2 atm. The results have shown that steady manual balance is dependent on the characteristics of the equipment used. The lower the balls pressure, the balancebalance becomes worse. Testing the stable hand-balance on the round-up has scored better than the round-side down of… Show more

“…Various previous studies have revealed that the use of the Bosu Ball in training can result in significant improvements in athletes' balance abilities, both in specific sport contexts and in general (Nugraha et al, 2022). First of all, the Bosu Ball challenges athletes to maintain their balance on an unstable surface, which triggers the activation of 103 stabilizer and core muscles (Badau et al, 2019), (Prathibha D et al, 2024). This provides an additional stimulus for the body to develop strength, stability, and coordination between muscles, which in turn improves the athlete's balance ability.…”

“…Balls of different compositions, with different characteristics of elasticity and adhesion, as well as with different sizes and weights, are used in the practice of physical activities and in therapy in order to improve the static and dynamic body balance [ 2 , 3 , 4 ], and the proprioception and strength [ 18 , 19 , 20 ], as well as in neuro-muscular and functional rehabilitation [ 21 , 22 , 23 , 24 ]. The balls that are used in physical activities are made by a specific technology from materials such as butadiene rubber, from polyurethane and polyvinyl chloride.…”
