The aim of this study was to determine the drought tolerance of four different genotypes, including two wheat varieties (Ceyhan 99 and Sagittario) and two wheat lines (Zdeb101 and Zdeb102), and create irrigation schedules. This study was performed with treatments applied at three irrigation levels (S100: treatment where the entire water need of the plant was met, S50: 50% of the water provided in the S100 treatment, S0: Rainfed), with four genotypes and four replications in a split‐plot design in Kahramanmaras East Mediterranean Transitional Zone Agricultural Research Institute in 2019 and 2020. The Ceyhan 99 and Sagittario varieties, which are widely cultivated in the region and the Zeb101 and Zdeb102 lines that are candidates for varieties were used in the study. In the study, 217.1 and 213.77 mm of water was given to S100, 108.54 and 106.88 mm of water was given to S50, and no irrigation was provided to S0 in 2019 and 2020, respectively. The effects of different irrigation levels on yield, water use efficiency (WUE), irrigation water use efficiency (IWUE), protein content and wet gluten content were investigated. At the end of this study, seasonal evapotranspiration (ET), irrigation water and yield decreased from S100 to S0. WUE, IWUE and yield response factor (Ky) values showed different trends in both years. There was no significant difference in yield between the varieties. However, in the stress susceptibility index (SSI) analyses of the genotypes, it was found that the most drought‐tolerant genotypes were Zdeb102 (0.50) and Ceyhan 99 (0.54). The highest protein content and wet gluten content were found as 11.38% and 22.24% in the Sagittario variety, respectively. It is recommended that Zdeb102 and Ceyhan 99 be cultivated in regions such as Kahramanmaras which have semi‐arid climate characteristics in the Mediterranean.

The research was carried out to determine the yield, yield components, quality, and stability of the bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotypes in heat-stressed and water-limited environments for two years. ANOVA and GGE biplot analysis were applied to determine the differences and relationships of investigated traits belonging to 10 different wheat varieties. While grain yield (GY) is associated with thousand-grain weight (TGW) and test weight (TW); protein ratio (PR) was found to be positively correlated with heading time (HT) and the number of spikes per square meter (SN). Besides, spike weight (SW) was found to be negatively correlated with PR, HT, and (SN). The biplot graph showed that PC1 explained 83.67% of the variability and the proportion attributed to PC2 was 16.33%. The cultivar of Kate A-1 was the most stable genotype, according to the biplot graph and it could be visually determined from the biplot graph in PC1 and PC2 together to explain 100% of the variability. In terms of the quality characteristics examined, Tahirova 2000 passed other varieties. It was concluded that Kate A-1 and Anapo varieties can be used for grain yield-oriented breeding studies, while Tahirova 2000 and Karatopak varieties can be used as parents for quality purposes.

This study was conducted at Edirne, Tekirdağ and Kırklareli locations in 2017-2018 growing season. The experiment was arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications. In the study, it was aimed to determine the effects of five different sowing densities (200, 300, 400, 500 and 600 seed m-2) on grain yield and yield components of bread wheat cultivar Aslı. In the experiment, the effect of sowing density and location on grain yield and yield components was found significant. In addition, sowing density × location interaction was found to be statistically significant in terms of grain yield. Grain yield was found among 693.2-849.7 kg da-1, while spike length was ranged from 8.3 to 9.5 cm. However, number of spikelets per spike was in the range of 17.4-19.7, while number of grains per spike was 35.2 to 44.1 and grain weight per spike was 1.43 to 1.75 g. Among the locations, the highest grain yield was determined at Edirne location. In terms of grain yield, the most appropriate sowing density was determined as 400 seed m-2 rate.
