“…Previously, Ψ md reference values of −1.3 MPa in ‘Mutsu’ and ‘Cox Orange’ apple were reported after 10 days of water-limited conditions [ 30 ]. In another study on ‘Gala’, irrigation was withheld until a −1.2 MPa threshold for Ψ md was reached without any negative effects on yield or fruit quality [ 31 ].
